
Dr. Tyler VanAkin
Tyler VanAkin is a chiropractor and the founder of The Cause Chiropractic. Tyler entered the healthcare field motivated by a profound commitment to the well-being of the sick and dying, believing in their right to a healthier, happier, and stronger life.
Tyler has sat on the chiropractic advisory counsel to Make America Healthy Again™ (MAHA™). He is currently on the government affairs committee of the Chiropractic Futures Strategic Plan and sits on the Advanced HIO board co-chairing the educational committee.
He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. During his time in chiropractic school, Tyler was the president of Palmer’s Knee Chest club. He served as the secretary and chair of chiropractic philosophy at Delta Sigma Chi. And was a radiological intern at the Palmer Clinics.
He lives in Leesburg, VA with his wife on a historic horse farm. In his free time you will find Tyler with horses and if not with horses, you will find him advocating for Chiropractic care in Washington D.C.
He is Virginia’s first upper cervical chiropractor licensed to perform Advanced HIO technique. His experience and data driven decision making has made him a trusted voice in chiropractic, healthcare innovation, and patient-centered care.

Dr. Ellen VanAkin is a chiropractor at The Cause Chiropractic in Leesburg, Virginia, specializing in Advanced HIO Knee Chest Upper Cervical care. Having grown up in a family deeply rooted in chiropractic, she is the tenth member of her family to enter the profession and has spent her life learning the principles of natural health and healing.
Dr. Ellen VanAkin graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with Dean’s List honors, served as president of the Palmer Knee Chest Club, and is certified in both Blair and Advanced HIO Knee Chest Upper Cervical techniques.
She currently serves on the Advanced HIO Knee Chest Board and is committed to advancing excellence in upper cervical chiropractic. She is passionate about helping patients achieve better health and reach their fullest potential by allowing the body to function as it was designed.
